About the Role

As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll join PayU’s dynamic engineering team and contribute to building reliable, secure, and scalable payment technologies. You’ll get the opportunity to apply your skills in data structures, algorithms, system design, and backend technologies to solve real business problems that affect millions of users.

This role isn’t just about writing code—it’s about building systems that can withstand real-world scale, performance, and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to build robust and user-centric software solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using object-oriented programming languages (especially Java).
Apply software engineering principles and data structure knowledge to improve backend performance.
Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and system design discussions.
Take ownership of features and projects from ideation to deployment.
Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Need

A B.E., B.Tech, or M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
Strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java.
Sound understanding of software engineering fundamentals like system design and complexity analysis.
Excellent problem-solving and logical thinking abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
An open-minded approach to learning and working with teams.
