About the Team

Role Overview

As a Data Scientist in the Fraud Risk team, you will be responsible for managing the loss and decline performance of a product or merchant portfolio. This is a full ownership role where you will analyze fraud patterns, build machine learning models, implement real-time risk strategies, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to design effective and scalable fraud prevention solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of a portfolio and manage end-to-end performance of loss and decline rates
  • Monitor transaction trends, perform root cause analysis, and forecast fraud KPIs
  • Work closely with business units to align on strategic goals, customer experience, and fraud management priorities
  • Create and implement fraud detection rules using custom logic and predictive modeling
  • Define technical and data requirements for engineering and data science partners
  • Partner with ML engineers and data scientists to develop and deploy AI-driven fraud prevention tools
  • Document analytical strategies, present findings, and influence decision-making at the global level

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience & Background:

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in data science or risk analytics
  • Experience working with large-scale, structured and unstructured datasets

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
