Role Overview
As a Software Developer 1 at Oracle, you’ll play an essential role in designing, developing, and enhancing software solutions. This individual contributor role is perfect for someone who is passionate about coding and has a foundational understanding of software architecture. You will be responsible for writing and configuring code for both new and upgraded solutions, ensuring that they meet technical specifications and deliver high performance and responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance Existing Applications Build and refine features within the existing software architecture, making sure they meet project requirements and client expectations.
- Develop New Reports Design and develop reports by fetching data through SQL, processing it, and representing it in a user-friendly format.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders Engage in client calls and work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand project scope, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Debugging and Problem Solving Perform debugging tasks, conduct root cause analysis, and document resolutions to improve the overall software quality.
- Participate in Design Discussions Contribute to component-level technical design discussions, sharing your insights and collaborating on innovative solutions.
- Support Software Releases Assist with the deployment and support of software releases, ensuring a smooth transition to production environments.
- Suggest Process Improvements Identify areas for process improvement within your team and contribute ideas to enhance both operations and the development ecosystem.
- Understand Healthcare Workflows Gain insights into healthcare workflows and the Millennium data model, applying this knowledge to your development tasks.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
- Technical Skills Proficiency in SQL, PL-SQL, Database Management Systems, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Additional skills in debugging, version control (Git), unit testing, and data analysis are essential.
- Soft Skills Strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration, communication, attention to detail, adaptability, time management, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Bonus Skills Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Business Object, Power Insight), CCL, and an understanding of healthcare workflows.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Flexibility Be willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed, in compliance with local regulations.
- Security Compliance Follow corporate and organizational security policies, understanding your role in safeguarding corporate and client assets. Take appropriate actions to prevent and report any security breaches within the scope of your position.
- Other Duties Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
