About the Role

As a Trainee Processor – HOI Review Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to review and validate homeowners’ insurance policies to ensure they meet lender, investor, and regulatory requirements. You will be part of a key operational function that ensures seamless loan processing and closing.

This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of insurance documentation and contributes to the overall quality of mortgage processing. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, processing, and closing, as well as engage directly with insurance agents and borrowers.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will involve the following:

• Reviewing homeowners’ insurance policies to ensure they are accurate and compliant with lender requirements

• Verifying essential policy details including coverage limits, effective dates, deductibles, and mortgagee clauses

• Communicating with insurance agents and borrowers to request missing or corrected documentation

• Updating and maintaining records in loan origination systems (LOS) with accurate insurance data

• Ensuring all documents meet investor and regulatory standards

• Supporting the processing, underwriting, and closing teams by resolving insurance-related issues

• Monitoring and following up on expiring or insufficient policies

• Documenting all activities for audit and quality control purposes

• Providing excellent internal and external customer service

• Keeping up-to-date with industry guidelines and insurance requirements

Candidate Profile

Eligibility Criteria:

• 0–1 year of experience in the mortgage or insurance sector, preferably in homeowners’ insurance review

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word

• Familiarity with loan origination systems is an added advantage

• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting

• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) for liaising with internal teams and external contacts

• Analytical mindset and ability to assess compliance gaps quickly and effectively

• Willingness to work U.S. business hours and from Mphasis office locations
