The engineering team at Motorola Solutions is pivotal to ensuring the overall health of our infrastructure, network, and application systems. Our engineers monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot our push-to-talk communication solutions, which are essential for maintaining seamless and effective communication.
Job Description
Shift Work: This role requires working in a 24/7 mission-critical environment, including shifts and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- 24/7 Support Provide around-the-clock on-call support to meet the critical service agreements with customers.
- Issue Resolution Troubleshoot complex, cross-platform issues involving OS, networking, and databases in a cloud-based SaaS environment. Handle live production incidents, debug and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
- Push-To-Talk Solutions Join live troubleshooting calls with customers, capture application logs and network data, and escalate issues to higher-level engineers if necessary. Deploy the Push-To-Talk application and configure network communications across servers.
- Performance Monitoring Continuously monitor network performance, application performance, and service integrity.
- Tool Development Develop tools and web services to parse application logs, system health information, and network captures, aiding in faster debugging and issue resolution. Automate monitoring tools to assess and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Push-To-Talk solution, providing a comprehensive view of solution health.
Basic Requirements
- Networking Protocols Understanding of basic networking protocols.
- Linux/Unix Administration Experience in administering Linux/Unix systems.
- Web-Based Application Debugging Proficiency in debugging web-based applications.
- Docker and Azure Basic knowledge of Docker and Azure virtualized environments.
- AWS Cloud Watch Understanding of AWS Cloud Watch.
- Communication Skills Excellent communication skills and ability to handle customer calls effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Azure DevOps Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Databases Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting databases.
- Linux Administration & Shell Scripting Advanced skills in Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Kubernetes and Docker Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerization.
