The Role: Data Engineer – Associate
In this role, you will be a core contributor to Chase UK’s digital banking platform. As a Data Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and product stakeholders to build and maintain efficient data pipelines and infrastructure supporting finance, treasury operations, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Your daily contributions will span across the full lifecycle of data management, engineering, and support. Key responsibilities include:

Designing and building end-to-end data pipeline solutions using modern cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

Implementing domain modeling techniques to structure data in a way that supports scalable, intelligent business products.

Ensuring that software is well-structured, easy to understand, testable, and maintainable.

Building robust systems that avoid single points of failure and maintain high availability.

Required Skills and Qualifications
This role demands a blend of technical expertise, business awareness, and collaborative thinking. Ideal candidates will possess:

Formal training or certification in Data Engineering or a related field.

Recent, relevant experience in building and maintaining data pipelines in a modern tech environment.

Proficiency in Python programming, with a focus on clean and modular code.

Experience designing and executing different forms of testing (unit, component, integration, end-to-end, performance).

Strong understanding of cloud technologies and distributed systems, particularly on platforms such as AWS.

Hands-on knowledge of data transformation frameworks and pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent).

Capability to optimize and manage large-scale queries, ensuring performance and reliability.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for collaboration across global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following experience is highly advantageous:
