Role Overview: Senior Analyst – Technical Writer

Ciena’s Blue Planet division is currently looking for a talented and experienced senior technical writer to join its team in Pune. The selected candidate will help shape customer-facing product documentation, ensuring that complex concepts are made accessible, accurate, and user-friendly.

This is a critical role that goes beyond content creation—it involves understanding technical systems deeply, interacting with development teams, and building content that directly impacts the success and usability of Ciena’s software solutions.

What You Will Do

As a senior technical writer at Ciena, your role will include:

• Creating comprehensive and precise technical documentation including user manuals, upgrade instructions, deployment and configuration guides, FAQs, online help, and release notes

• Ensuring all documentation is clear, consistent, and written in alignment with Ciena’s style and branding guidelines

• Translating detailed engineering and development concepts into easy-to-understand content for users with varying levels of technical expertise

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as developers, product managers, support engineers, and end-users to identify documentation needs and gaps

• Maintaining and updating documentation in step with product development and software releases

• Utilizing visual communication through diagrams, flowcharts, and other design tools to enhance the clarity of technical content

• Participating in Ciena’s learning community and helping shape content strategies that respond to customer needs

What You Should Bring

• Strong command over English with excellent writing and editing skills

• Familiarity with documentation tools and workflows, such as Markdown, Git, and HTML
