This role is a unique blend of DevOps, systems engineering, networking, and software engineering, aimed at maintaining and creating infrastructure while automating operational and development work.

Role

As a Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Amazon Pricing Team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure Management Owning and managing existing infrastructure, as well as creating new setups to support various services.
• Automation and Development Automating repetitive processes and supporting development work. You will work closely with the development team to enhance and update our software.
• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics Diagnosing and resolving operational issues, diving deep into the architecture and code, and developing solutions to enhance our services.
• System Maintenance Performing infrastructure maintenance and configuration, developing monitoring solutions, and documenting our systems for seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix operational issues.
• Develop and maintain monitoring solutions.
• Perform infrastructure maintenance and configuration.
• Automate support processes and enhance existing software.
• Collaborate with development teams to update and improve our systems.
• Document systems and procedures for future reference.

Eligibility:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 2+ years of experience in software development or technical support.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent field.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Proficiency in Unix systems.
• Experience in scripting with modern programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

• AWS Experience Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, networks, and operating systems.
• Data Analysis Proficiency in Excel or Tableau, including data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables.
• Programming Skills Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, with a focus on object-oriented design.
• SQL Databases Experience in querying and analyzing SQL databases.
